Healthy Relationships Course
A deeper understanding of yourself and your partner — from choosing a partner to everyday life after marriage.
A relationship cannot thrive on feelings alone.
Each of us enters a relationship with different expectations, different ways of communicating and expressing needs, patterns we have learned around closeness and distance, and values that shape the way we see life. When these differences are not understood, they can turn into repeated misunderstandings — even between two people who genuinely care about each other.
The Healthy Relationships Course is a practical educational program designed to help you understand relationship dynamics across different stages: from understanding yourself and choosing a partner, through engagement, to love and communication after marriage. You will explore skills that can help you build a clearer, calmer, and more respectful relationship for both partners.
Who is this course for?
This course may be useful for you if:
- You are considering a relationship or engagement and want to make choices with greater awareness, not feelings alone.
- You are engaged and want to understand which important topics are worth discussing before marriage.
- You are married and feel that communication or closeness between you is not what it used to be.
- You notice the same conflicts repeating without fully understanding what is driving them.
- You want to understand your patterns around attachment and closeness and how they may affect your relationships.
- You want to understand differences between you and your partner without allowing those differences to become a constant source of conflict.
Course Topics
- Understanding Yourself Before Choosing a Partner — Your needs and expectations in a relationship, and how previous experiences may influence your choices.
- Attachment Patterns — Secure, anxious, avoidant, and fearful-avoidant patterns. These are patterns and tendencies that can help us understand behavior around closeness and distance; they are not fixed diagnoses and do not determine whether a relationship will succeed or fail.
- Values in Relationships — Understanding your values, your partner’s values, shared priorities, and areas of difference, and how these can affect decisions and communication. Partners do not need identical values in every area, but understanding them matters.
- Partner Selection and Compatibility — Important areas to explore, including values, expectations, communication, boundaries, and lifestyle.
- Engagement: Important Questions and Conversations — Topics worth discussing openly before marriage as tools for mutual understanding, not as a checklist that guarantees an outcome.
- Love After Marriage — Understanding the difference between attraction, emotional connection, communication, and everyday relationship behavior, and why closeness requires ongoing care.
- Love Languages — A popular framework that can help partners talk about different ways of expressing care and affection.
- Differences Between Partners — Individual differences in emotional expression, communication preferences, expectations, and learned relationship patterns, without reducing people to rigid stereotypes.
- Foundations of Relationship Communication — Practical principles for expressing your needs, listening to your partner, and approaching conversations more calmly.
- Intimacy Between Spouses — Understanding the role of emotional and physical closeness in marriage, and the importance of communication and mutual needs in this area, within a respectful educational framework.
