The Journey course
A practical journey to understand yourself and build a calmer, more respectful relationship with who you are.
We learn many things throughout our lives, but very few of us are ever taught how to understand ourselves.
Why do we see ourselves the way we do?
Why can our inner voice sometimes be harsher than anyone else?
And why can a small situation trigger emotions that feel much bigger than the situation itself?
Many people live with an inner voice that tells them:
“I’m not good enough.”
“I can’t do this.”
“Everyone else is better than me.”
That voice usually does not come from nowhere. Part of it may have been shaped by messages and experiences earlier in life, while another part may come from patterns of thinking we have developed over time.
“The Journey” is a practical training program that helps you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another, while learning tools that can help you relate to yourself with greater awareness and respect.
Who is this course for?
This course may be useful for you if:
- You often feel that you are “not good enough,” even when you achieve meaningful things.
- Your inner critic judges you harshly whenever you make a mistake.
- You frequently compare yourself with others and almost always come out feeling worse.
- You feel uncomfortable with your body image or appearance, and it affects your confidence.
- Anxiety or fear influence your decisions more than you would like.
- You want to understand your emotions and work with them rather than suppressing them or letting them take over.
- You want to build a calmer and more respectful relationship with yourself.
Course Topics
- Self-Esteem — What healthy self-esteem means and some of the factors that can influence it.
- Childhood Messages and Experiences — How some messages and experiences from earlier in life may continue to influence the way we see ourselves today — without blaming others and without using childhood to explain everything.
- The Inner Critic — Learn to recognize your critical inner voice, understand when it tends to appear, and respond to it rather than automatically believing it.
- Cognitive Distortions — Common thinking patterns that can influence emotions and behavior, and how to examine them more carefully.
- Thought → Emotion → Behavior (Mercedes Model) — A practical tool for understanding the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behavior, and where you may be able to intervene in that cycle.
- Body Image — Your relationship with your appearance and body, and how it can affect your confidence.
- Anxiety and Fear — Understanding anxiety and fear as normal human emotions and learning practical ways to respond to them in everyday situations.
- Emotional Intelligence and Emotion Regulation — Understanding and regulating emotions rather than suppressing them or trying to forcefully “control” them.
- Delayed Gratification — How the ability to delay immediate gratification can support your goals and decision-making.
- The Johari Window — A tool that can help you explore aspects of yourself you already recognize, as well as aspects you may not yet be fully aware of, and how this can affect your relationships.
